Our Process
The creation of your didactic piece will begin with a conversation, email or, in the best case, a personal consultation; in order to fully understand your project. You will most likely have some questions for us about our availability, expertise and costs. We will ask you questions about your needs, deadline, preferred image style and licensing rights to suit your needs. If you have references relating to your project, this is a great time to introduce them.
Once we have a firm grasp of the depth of the project, we will provide you with and quote and terms for review. This will most likely include the description of the project, transfer of rights, fees and other terms unique to your project.
After everything is agreed on and the contract is signed we will begin research and preliminary development of concept drawings of your story. At this stage, we will work continually to revise the preliminary concept proofs until we have the artwork and message just right.
With final approval of the concept proof, we will begin working on the final artwork. Nearing completion, we will sent you one final proof for any last, minor revisions.
With the piece finished, we will deliver the project files to you electronically, by way of DropBox link.

Certification of Medical Illustration
The Board of Certification of Medical Illustrators (BCMI) is an independent body that administers this voluntary certification program designed to provide the practicing medical illustrator with the recognizable and valuable CMI credential. A CMI has successfully passed examinations in business practices, ethics, biomedical science, and drawing skills and has undergone a rigorous portfolio review.
The certification program and its examination process are based on standards that are used by certification programs and licensing bodies in many diverse professions and occupations. These are the Standards established by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
The CMI credential is renewed every 5 years by meeting continuing education requirements designed to maintain competencies required for practice.
